Childcare Options

Good morning, friends!

I asked you guys on my stories alll about childcare and you were MORE than helpful! I honestly had no idea where to begin and if we wanted to take our son to a childcare facility or have in-home childcare.

A little backstory – we will only need childcare for 1 or 2 days a week. My parents will keep him two days, I will keep him one day and then Luke and I will have him on the weekends (obviously!). Also, we will not need childcare until he’s ~ 5 months old after my maternity leave.

After reading through and chatting you guys about our childcare options, we decided to do an in-home nanny for the 1 or 2 days a week we need help and then when he’s around 2 years old, we will send him to a daycare because we think the child interaction at a young age is so important! I will list some childcare options and what I learned from you guys. Hopefully this can help other mamas in the area!!

Where to look for an in-home nanny/baby sitter?

Care.com SO MANY of you guys recommended this site. They do in-depth background checks and more.

Sweet Peas – Local to Knoxville, this company helps place nannies and families together.

Local facebook pages – a lot of you guys recommended the facebook page called “Sitters for Sequoyah”

Of course, my husband and I hope we can find someone we already personally know and trust to watch our son these few days a week! We already have a great option and I’m so excited about it! I know we have about a year until we’ll need to start the in-home nanny, but it’ll be here before we know it!

Love y’all!!
